Kiteboarding is one of the most rapidly developing sports on the planet.
It is very simple and you don’t need to be in a top form. Power does not play a major role in this sport; the most important is to understand the principles of how to pilot a kite.
You do not need any prior knowledge about the wind, the water or requirements; you will learn everything at school. The most important thing is that you are willing and eager, and once you enter this world you will understand why we look so funny in those wetsuits.
The school holds its course in accordance with one of the largest kiteboarding organizations in the world – IKO (International Kiteboarding Organization).
Instructors at school were trained in accordance with best IKO standards; this will provide safer and faster progress in this exquisite sport..
Also we are only one in Croatia where you can get an IKO certification card.
But first, let us explain what kiteboarding or kite surfing is.
Which term of these two is more accurate?
Actually, they are both correct; they are only performed on different surfaces.
If you ride the waves using kite and directional board or surfboard, it is correct to say that you are kite surfing. If you kite on all other water surfaces (not surfing on the waves) ‘kiteboarding’ is more accurate name for these types of performance.
However, since this is a very young sport and its concepts are not completely determined, you will not come across as an ignorant if you use either of the terms.
Kiteboarding / kite surfing has emerged as a combination of different sports: water skiing, windsurfing, surfing and paragliding; still, it is closest to wakeboarding, where kite completely replaced the boat that pulls you.
Landboarding, snow kite, Kite Skating, Kite Come buggying.
Since not all live near the sea, some came to an idea to combine a kite with different surfaces: snow, ice, soil, grass…..
Immediately after kiteboarding, land boarding is entered on scene where you use the power of a kite. It combines mountain board and kite. Since falls in land boarding are not very pleasant, most of the riders use special pads and helmets.
Snow kiting has many followers, especially skiers and snowboarders. There are already many noticed places in the world where you can practice snow kiting. The advantage of this sport is that you are not dependent on ski lifts; all you need is a little wind so you can use the power of the kite to board up the hill or mountain. There you can pack your kite and go downhill, or you can just enjoy the ride gliding over the snowy plains…
When kite skating you are using in-line or off-road skates at speeds up to 60 mph across parking lots, dessert dry lakes, grassy fields, and sandy beaches. During the winter there are many frozen lakes and you can ride on them using ice skates..
Whether performed on soil, sand or grass, kite buggying is also an interesting sport.
You sit in a metal buggy only a few inches from the ground; a kite pulls you while you control the direction of a buggy and use your hands to control the power and the direction of a kite.
Kite wakeskating is primarily a version of wakeboarding. This type of sport pushes the limits, because the board does not have bindings; instead, you use training shoes, ones similar to the skateboarding shoes. The main difference is that the former have drainage channels. As an addition, the board is covered with griptape.
